"In April 2004, Boy Scout Troop 170, sponsored by the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church Men's Group, began a three-year backpacking program to hike the 108 miles of the Appalachian Trail that pass through Shenandoah National Park from Afton to Front Royal.All well and good. But what about those guys who joined the troop in the last 2 years? They're missing sections, so the troop will have to continue doing this over and over, won't they?
"The last weekend of April, Scouts and leaders finished the final section of the trail when they passed the northern boundary of Shenandoah National Park near Front Royal after a two-day, 25-mile hike."
