Nathan Priest Hikes Northbound

The Kennebec Journal of 25 March 2005 has a story by Betty Adams under the headline "Readfield man tackles all of Appalachian Trail" that tells about Nathan Priest's thru-hike attempt. He had started within the week, and was raising funds for cancer research, having lost his maternal grandmother to the disease 8 years earlier. Anna Robertson, a former hiker who works at North Georgia College and State University, gave him a ride to the trailhead at Springer. Priest was a 2004 graduate of the University of Maine and a 2000 graduate of Maranacook Community High School.
